What is the Baby & Toddler Hat?

A soft handwoven linen sun hat for babies and toddlers, lined in cotton, with a neck tie and an adjustable pull inside so it grows with your little one. It comes in four sizes: 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months and 1-2 years.

Which size should I choose?

Four sizes cover 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months and 1-2 years, with an adjustable pull inside so you get a little more life out of each one. If your little one is between sizes, size up and draw the pull in.

Coco up close

Coco is a rich chocolate brown, deep and warm. A colour that grounds the rest of what you are wearing. Hand-dyed in small batches, so expect gentle variation from one piece to the next. That is the linen doing what linen does.

What is it made from?

Handwoven linen, hand-dyed in small batches, lined with soft cotton. As with all our linen, small variations in weave and shade are part of the fabric's character.

A note on sun

A hat is one part of sun protection, not all of it. Keep your little one in the shade through the middle of the day and follow current Australian sun safety advice for their age.

CARE

Hand wash or gentle machine wash in cold water, using a mild detergent free of brighteners. Hang in the shade to dry and store out of direct sunlight. Do not dry clean.

As your piece is worn, washed and loved, the linen will soften and gently fade, developing character over time.

What sizes do the baby hats come in?

Four sizes: 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months and 1-2 years, with an adjustable pull inside so the fit grows with your little one. (Some styles come in 0-3m and 3-6m only)

Will the hat protect my baby from the sun?

The soft linen brim shades little faces from the Australian sun, and the neck tie keeps it on when bub decides hats are optional. For long stints outdoors, pair it with shade and sun-safe clothing.

Can I wash the hat?

Yes, it's machine washable, and it folds flat to fit in your nappy bag without losing its shape. Wash in cold water on a gentle cycle with mild detergent free of brighteners, and line dry in the shade

Do the hats match the carriers?

They do. Our hats come in the same hand-dyed colourways as our carriers, slings and swaddles, so you can match bub's hat to your carry.

What are the hats made from?

Love this hat so much! It’s so hard to find wide brimmed hats to suit younger babies and this one ticks every box. My bub is 5.5 months and still has some growing room. I love that it matches our bondi carrier too for the cutest look!

Lovely hat

My son loved his hat! It does run small and isn't adjustable, he is 4 months now and it already nearly doesn't fit him but beautiful quality, would highly recommend for baby with a smaller head than my big pumpkin :)

beautiful hat, but very small

Let me start by saying that the Bondi baby hat is absolutely stunning and a fantastic quality. Unfortunately its very, very small. I bought it for my 2.5 month old son and it hardly fit, now at 3.5 months old it does not fit at all. I feel pretty disappointed for the price point and sadly even with so much to love about the look and quality of the hat I wouldn't recommend buying it unless you have a particularly tiny baby.

Beautiful hat!

My son is 4 months old and I’ve been looking for a hat for him for a while now. Every baby hat I’ve looked for has either had a small brim or just doesn’t look that good, but the Bondi Baby hat is a gorgeous addition to his wardrobe. I love how wide the brim is, and the fact that it’s adjustable to his head size. I also wanted it to have ties so it would stay on his head, which it does. Super happy with the quality and will be getting his next hat from here too
