Birth Workers of Mumma etc

Liz Williams

I am a keeper of sacred birth and postpartum, a photographer. and a mother of two boys. I am humbled by witnessing women and birthing people step into their power and view their body for how awe inspiring it truly is. I form circles of safety for you to delve deep within, holding the space to clear the way for your greatest transformation. I am a birth guide who can show you how to take responsibility for your birth, bring light to the ways the system can work against us and help prepare you for the rite of passage that birth is. No matter how you wish to birth, it is your choice, I just want to see you running your own show, as the strong, independent and inspiring being you are.

Hannah Martin

Childbirth Educator & Birthkeeper

Being a mama of two I noticed there was a flaw in the public system and that was being made to feel like just another number. So I decided to become a birth worker and create change myself. I am here to educate pregnant couples to feel informed, confident and heard along their journey to becoming parents. I offer childbirth classes, hapū wānanga (antenatal classes based around traditional Māori practices) and postpartum support.

I am Doula, Birth & Sacred Cycle keeper. I am a radical advocate for women and birthing people in standing in their power to be their fully expressed self through reclaiming their rights, their truth, their autonomy and their rites of passage through their sacred cycle. I do this by doing this work myself for myself. I am here as a sister to walk beside women in service and support, to truely listen, hear and learn to be able hold women as they need to be held not how we think they need to be held.

Abi Smissen

Birth and Postpartum Keeper

I am a wife, mother to two and a Birth and Postpartum Keeper. I believe deeply in the power of being held and heard during pregnancy, birth and postpartum. A time of metamorphosis, transformation and surrender. I know, firsthand, the power of a sovereign and empowered birth. One that can exist in homes, in birth centres, in hospitals, in operating theatres. I am a witness to the sanctity of postpartum, the raw beauty and brutality that sits side by side as you become the mother or the parent that you need to be. You are the expert of your birth, your body and your becoming, and I am here to support and not assert as you lean into your intuition and make those decisions. It is your story to write.

I work across the continuum from antenatal care, delivery suite (where I am most passionate about) and postnatal care (including; sleeping/settling, wrapping, bathing, breastfeeding, formula feeding). I am currently studying my Masters of Midwifery so that I am able to further improve my care of women and their families. I really enjoy helping women and advocating for women in every way that I can.

Claire Wind

I'm a mum, midwife and recently a podcaster. In October 2019 I gave birth to my firstborn son Rupert by vaginal breech birth. Following this, and to keep my head in the game whilst on maternity leave, I've started a weekly podcast called Mum Will Know which is aimed at equipping mums and mums-to-be with evidence based, educational information covering topics from conception to kids in kindergarten. I am loving mum-life and can't wait to (hopefully) add more little cherubs to our family!

Roxanne May

Sacred Birth Keeper

My name is Roxanne but my friends call me Rox. I'm a soulful birthkeeper, herbal witch, and devoted plant mama (among a million other things) - servicing women and families of Melbourne, Australia. Since the first time witnessing the primal, goddess-like strength harnessed by women during labour and birth, I've been in total awe. There are no words to describe the divine magic that transpires when a woman powerfully and intuitively brings her babe earthside. To this day, it never ceases to amaze me, inspire me and blow my damn mind! It is for these reasons that I am FIERCELY devoted to protecting and keeping alive the innate wisdom of this sacred and spiritual work. I am a rebel, a noise maker, a system shaker. I am ready to dismantle the current toxic culture that plagues birth. I am here to co-create the empowering, soul awakening, heart liberating birth experience of your wildest dreams. From pre-conception through to postpartum, I will be by your side, celebrating and loving you every step of the way. So, if my goofy personality, witty humour and birth nerd brain speak to your soul (like dark chocolate speaks to mine). I'd love to chat about how we could work together to create something beautiful.
