Frequently asked questions

What is the Wrap Carrier?

The Mumma Etcetera Wrap Carrier is based on the traditional Meh Dai design, the softness and closeness of a wrap with the support of a structured carrier. It ties rather than clips, and holds bub beautifully snug.

What age is the Wrap Carrier suitable for?

From newborn (3.6kg / 8lb) through to toddlerhood (15.9kg / 35lb), with a variety of carry positions to suit you and your baby along the way.

Is the Wrap Carrier safe for my baby's hips?

Yes. It's approved by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute as a hip-healthy product, supporting the natural M-position. Follow the T.I.C.K.S. checklist for every carry.

Is a wrap carrier hard to learn?

There's a small learning curve compared to a clip carrier, but our comprehensive video demos walk you through it step by step, and every carrier comes with free one-on-one consultations with a babywearing educator if you'd like a hand.

Which size should I choose?

Regular suits up to dress size 14 (AU/UK); Long adds 50cm to each strap for size 14 and up. If you're unsure, we recommend sizing up.

What is the Wrap Carrier made from?

Strong, supportive 100% handwoven linen with a cross-back for comfort, soft enough to wear around the house, and it folds up to fit in your bag.

Honest review

I purchased this carrier second hand off fb marketplace from another mum. It’s beautiful and looks lovely on. However, it’s extremely difficult to put on by yourself. To wear it properly and comfortably you need someone to help you. The wrap straps are supper long, when putting it on while out it gets dirty from touching the ground while trying to put it on. You have to iron it after every wash. If you wear it as picture it pulls your shoulders forward, making it uncomfortable to wear. It’s almost impossible to put on by yourself, for something so expensive there are much more practical options. It looks great! But is not practical and a pain in the bum.

Wonderful!

I bought this carrier with my second child, as she loves to be held but my wrists were giving out. I’ve tried 3 other major baby carrier brands but she hated them all. This one did the magic! She is softly snug in it, and I think the extra straps that cross in the front really helps with the feeling of being “carried”. At the same time, the straps are long and I found it just a bit challenging to put away in public. Nonetheless, super comfy and super stylish for my little one. (I received mine with a pen mark on the inner lining, perfect otherwise!)

Beautiful quality and colour!

I can’t thank enough the designers of this amazing baby carrier ! I’ve received mine yesterday in colour Bondi and I’m in love with it . I’m size 12 at the moment and I bought size 4-14.
My Baby is 7 weeks old now ,when I’ve put him in the carrier he fell asleep in 2 minutes ! It felt very comfortable, snug and secure to wear it and carry baby in it
. Great for back! I’m so happy :)
I’ve had sling and other carrier in past with my first 2 kids but they were not near as comfortable as this one and they hurt my back. LOVE ❤️❤️❤️

Love this carrier!

I am in love with this carrier! I tried a wrap and an ergo 360 and I just couldn’t get them right. This was so simple to get the hang of my little one sleeps for hours in it and it looks beautiful I’ve had so many compliments about it and the colour is stunning! The only thing that would make it better would be a way to secure the hanging ties neatly (I hate any hanging ties on all carriers)

You don’t understand, I’m OBSESSED

I LOVE this wrap carrier! Wish I had it with my first born. It’s incredibly comfortable and supports my newborn great! I love how soft the fabric is too. It seems somewhat intimidating at first to figure out, but the tutorials were super helpful and I got the hang of it in no time. I would HIGHLY suggest this carrier to anyone who is considering! It’s worth every penny!

Literal life saver!

My little one went through a pretty harsh purple crying/ witching hour phase and would not sleep unless she was held. This carrier gave my arms a much needed break whilst also being light weight and matching all my outfits. The material is very durable, high quality and feels very secure, my baby falls asleep in minutes. Definitely will be recommending this to any new mums I meet. Not to mention amazing customer service when I wanted to exchange colours too! Such a lovely brand 💕

Mumma etc wrap carrier review

The mumma etc wrap carrier is super comfortable! I love the support and comfort that the wide straps provide. I did find it took some extra adjusting to get the firmness right but after a couple tries and practice it has become easier and very enjoyable to use.

Baby hated being in this design. It says its meant for newborns but because of the restrictive feet placement and hard material it just does not work. I would say this is a bit a waste of money.

Not suited for babies under 5kg

I was really excited to try these carriers but they are far too big for my newborn despite what they say on the specifications. Which was super disappointing! The lower panel is too wide to have babies legs in a proper M and have babies head close enough to my face to be safe.I asked in all the babywearing places, and got a consult and it seems it's the same everywhere. I have to wait to use them. I would have returned one (I bought two) but they were on sale. Otherwise great quality

Love wrap for newborn baby!

Second time mum - Purchased the wrap when pregnant and used it when baby was a newborn. We travelled to Melbourne when baby was 7 weeks and she was snug as a bug!

We even used it on our 3 year old who wanted cuddles! Felt supported and it took the weight off our arms.

Beautiful but Not practical

This is a beautiful and high quality carrier- linen is thick and substantial however I don’t find it very practical to use. It takes that little bit too long to get on especially when you want to make sure it’s a safe fit for Bub, the straps drag on the floor in the process and get dirty and it just too fiddly!
I struggle to get this on by myself without another person helping make sure the straps aren’t twisted at the back and wrapping them around the front to tie at the back. Just way too fiddly when all you want is the ease of getting Bub on you without a fuss.

Love it

Seriously love this wrap carrier. so comfy and once you watch how to wrap it properly once you never have to again. would so recommend. Pretty good size wise I'm wearing a size 14 and didn't require the extra length 😊 Love it 10/10

This is the one

Haven’t used the carrier yet as my baby is still cooking. But my cat loves it! It is very good quality and seems easy to use with my few practices. Love all the colour choices. I did a lot of research and this option for the price and style seemed too good to pass up!

Dissapointed

I wanted to love this, I've never spend money like this on a carrier. After reading the reviews I was so excited. I have tried to wear this so mnay times, taking me over 10 mins to get it on and even then it doesnt feel right and my baby hates it. I've tried mutiple times from newborn to 4 months and still no luck.

Wouldn't recommend

The design is cute but the material is quite rough, it's very difficult to get on by yourself with a good tight wrap, it seems to loosen quite quickly even when you think you've gotten it on well. And the bottom strap loosens as you wear it too. Wish I had gotten the daily carrier

Obsessed

I’ve tried both a wrap carrier and clip carrier and this one is my new go-to choice! The material is BEAUTIFUL, so much more than I expected! So much more supportive than a standard wrap and without the worry of the carrier being overstretched and loosing its stability, then less bulky than a clip one yet still so adjustable. The biggest win for me is that its front and back wearing and super comfortable both ways, I dont feel it as much across my back

I really wanted to love this

I really wanted to love this since it looks nice overall. But I was disappointed. It really doesn’t have much support so wearing it for long is not an option. She also doesn’t seem too comfortable in it. And on top of that it kinda starts coming undone if you are planning to wear this and move around a bit which is pretty scary.
I wanted to exchange it for perhaps the other types of carriers but shipping it from the US was too much : (

Want to love, but disappointed

I really wanted to like this, it’s a beautiful print and the quality is lovely, however the ties are incredibly annoying and awkward to use, especially when you have to fuss with getting them right and your baby is crying so you want something quick and easy! Plus the ties are so long they drag on the ground when getting bubs in and out. Such a shame I didn’t love it especially for the high price.
