Description

The Hipsy is a ring-sling-inspired linen hip carrier that provides carry support for older babies and toddlers from around 9 months (8.5kg) up to 20kg. It has one wide cupped shoulder strap and a quilted linen seat, and it distributes your toddler's weight across your back instead of loading it onto one hip. It is a carry support, not a hands-free carrier, so one hand stays on your little one at all times.

Parent fit: Suitable for women’s sizes 6–24
Baby fit: From ~9 months (8.5kg), once baby has good head control and is sitting unassisted, through to toddlerhood (20kg / 44lb)
Carry support: Designed as a carry support. Always support your infant’s back with one hand.
Adjustable shoulder fit: Front and back ladder-lock clips allow you to centre the position of the shoulder padding.

CARE

Hand wash or gentle machine wash in cold water, using a mild detergent free of brighteners. Hang in the shade to dry and store out of direct sunlight. Do not dry clean.

Is the Hipsy hands-free?

No, and that's by design. The Hipsy is carry support rather than a hands-free carrier, so keep one loving hand on your little one at all times. It's made for short, frequent carries: up onto the hip, down to walk, and up again.

Does a hip carrier help with back and arm strain?

Yes. Carrying a toddler on one hip loads one side of your body; the Hipsy's supportive seat and cupped shoulder strap spreads that weight, so the school walk and the long museum afternoon stay comfortable for both of you.
